Quick Shots: White Sox Fall Flat Again
- Just when you thought it was safe to wear your White Sox hat in public again, the Sox lay yet another egg against the Cubs this afternoon at Wrigley Field. Look, when you can't even beat Rodrigo Lopez, don't tell me your "all in."
- Adam Dunn continues to struggle. Apparently Ozzie believes he will turn a corner like Juan Pierre. To be honest, Dunn looks as confused as the plate as Michelle Bachman reading a history book. Truth is, Ozzie could have kept Paulie in the game and put the pitcher in the three hole but didn't. Loyalty is Ozzie's blessing and his curse.
PinkGavin Floyd's big problem is when the crap starts to run downhill he can't stop it. Sort of the anti-Humber. Honestly, Kenny Williams, your short list of trade candidates should include Floyd, Edwin Jackson and Mark Teahen.- The next 19 games the Sox have are against divisional opponents, the next seven at home against Kansas City and Minnesota. Nothing short of a 5-2 weed would be acceptable in my book, but you know how tight the Sox sphincters get when they play Minnesota. Now would be a good time to step on the Twinkies throats. but again, my faith in these guys to do that is a hair short of non-existent.
- Indians lose. Oh wait. The Sox can't beat Rodrigo Lopez, therefore they can't move up in the standings.
- Paul Konerko getting snubbed from the a--star team is a joke. However, his finishing fifth in the fan balloting is embarrassing for Sox fans. Yes, I understand A-Gon is the best first baseman in the league, but where would the Sox be without Paulie? It's ridiculous.
- Speaking of snubs, Phil Humber also deserved a shot. He probably was eliminated for consideration when the only Kansas City Royal worthy of making the team was pitcher Aaron Crow.
- Rodrigo Lopez? Really White Sox, really?
