Butkus D. Dogg's Friday Fearless Forecast (Week 11)
Hello again. I'm coming off an 8-2 week which could have easily been 10-0 had I not picked Alabama and the Eagles, both who lost in close games. No worries. I'm enjoying my best season ever and 72-25 and I'm not stopping now.Mama is away and it's just the Fat Dog, the Bald Guy and me. The Bald Guy is gone a lot and when he's here, he's either cleaning something, cooking something, locked in his man cave or yelling at us. I think he misses Mama. I miss Mama. That's several hours of attention I don't get anymore.
Oh well. That's why they invented walls, I guess.
Anyway, you know the drill. Five college, five pro, straight up. Before we make our picks, thanks to all our veterans for providing us with the freedom we enjoy. Like the freedom to make awesome football picks:
College
Pro
- New Orleans vs. Atlanta: If the Saints are going to be a force in the playoffs, this is the game where they break out of their funk. They will. Take New Orleans.
- Pittsburgh vs. Cincinnati: The Steelers have been perhaps the best team in the conference the last few weeks, while the Bengals are suddenly causing a lot of buzz. Still, the Bengals have been playing over their heads. Take Pittsburgh.
- New York Giants vs. San Francisco: At the beginning of the year, no one, and I mean no one, thought this game was a big deal. But the Giants and Niners are playing very well and both look to be heading to the playoffs. In fact, this could be a second round or championship game preview. Eli Manning and Alex Smith are both hot right now, but I think the team that has been here before has the edge. Take the Giants.
- Detroit vs. Chicago: This is a huge game for the Bears, who, with a win will tie the Lions for second in the division and position themselves for a wildcard run. The Lions are a bunch of mouthly jerks who trounced the Bears in their last meeting. Since that time, the Bears have made adjustments to both their offense and defense and have had a couple of impressive wins. Take Chicago.
- Minnesota vs. Green Bay: It wouldn't matter if the Vikings had two weeks off, in the words of M.C. Hammer, "can't touch this." Take Green Bay
