Butkus D. Dogg's Friday Fearless Forecast (Week 13)
Good morning and happy my birthday. I appreciate it very much that on my birthday today (I'm 42 in people years) that everything is closed, there is football on and people all over are getting together to celebrate me. I would have picked filet instead of turkey, but still, I am grateful for the attention.Last week, I was only 6-4, but I'm still 88-32 on the year. And now that I am a year older and wiser, there is no telling what I can do.
Five college, five pro, straight up. Let's blow out the candles on a good week:
College:
- Arkansas vs. LSU: This game will be played at LSU, although it will be a day game. Arkansas has some fire power, but LSU has a great defense. Given how Alabama beat them, I have to give the edge to the Tigers. Take LSU.
- Ohio State vs. Michigan: With Urban Meyer allegedly waiting in the wings, Ohio State Coach Luke Fickell would like to go out with a bang. Unfortunately, it will be a thud. Take Michigan.
- Alabama vs. Auburn: It's the Arn Bowl where all bets are off. However, Bama is much better than Auburn this year. They will know by game time if LSU has won or lost, but if they can keep their emotions in check and focus on the game, they could be in position to play for a title. Take Alabama. P.S. If Auburn pulls off the upset, construction on a statue of Gene Chizek will begin first thing Monday morning.
- Penn State vs. Wisconsin: The Badgers have had a great season at home. Penn State can play some defense, but Wisconsin has too much firepower for them to overcome. Take Wisconsin.
- Stanford vs. Notre Dame: The Irish have played well against the likes of Boston College, but Andrew Luck will not get upset in prime time again. Take Stanford.
Pro
- Green Bay vs. Detroit: I live in Wisconsin. My name is Butkus. All I want for my birthday is for those Cheeseheads to shut their bratholes with all of the Aaron Rodgers man love crap. Detroit is a physical defense that is going to give the Packers everything they can handle. I'm calling upset. Take Detroit.
- San Francisco vs. Baltimore: In the battle of the Brothers Haubaugh, I like John's chances. His team is at home while his brother's team has to go coast to coast on a short week. Take Baltimore.
- Minnesota vs. Atlanta: Take Atlanta. Nuff' said.
- Denver vs. San Diego: Tim Tebow isn't pretty but he gets the job done. San Diego is injured and pretty pathetic right now. Take Denver.
- Chicago vs. Oakland: Miss Jay Cutler yet Bear fans. You will. Take Oakland.
