Butkus D. Dogg's Friday Fearless Forecast (Week 15)

Hello again.  Another good week by me, your trusty canine prognosticator, going 8-2 for a total of 105-35 so far.  Not bad, if I do say so myself and I do.

The college football season is over for all intents and purposes until the bowl games crank up.  Look for my bowl spectacular coming Wednesday or Thursday of next week.

This week, we'll just do the NFL picks.  Five games, straight up.  Here we go:

  • Philadelphia vs. Miami: It's been a long year for both these teams, more so for the Eagles than the Dolphins.  If the Eagles are thinking about tee times instead of football, I think the Fish could surprise them.  Still, I like the Eagles to rebound.  Take Philadelphia.
  • Minnesota vs. Detroit: Even without a boy named Suh, the Lions are clearly the better team.  Take Detroit.
  • Oakland vs. Green Bay: The Packers are by far the elite team in the NFL.  Man, it hurts to say that.  My name is Butkus, for crying out loud.  That said, it will be 35 degrees in Green Bay tomorrow and the Raiders will be trying to keep warm while the Packers should stay hot.  Take Green Bay.
  • Buffalo vs. San Diego: This is a battle of two teams that could possibly still wind up in the playoffs.  Norv Turner's teams always finish strong, so a win over the Bills shouldn't be too much of a stretch.  Take San Diego.
  • Chicago vs. Denver: I am sick and tired of hearing all of these commentators raining down fire on Tim Tebow.  Despite all of his goofball antics, the guy knows how to win. John Fox is showing what a good coach he is, not only modifying the offense to suit Tebow, but putting together a pretty good defense as well.  The Bears, on the other hand, have a quarterback who makes people heap praise upon P.T. Willis and Moses Moreno. Sorry, Bears fans, but your team is cooked without Jay Cutler and Matt Forte. Expect to see Josh McCown in the second half cleaning up Caleb Hanie's mess. Take Denver.
