Four On The Floor: Bears Lose To Packers Again
Zach Bowman, anytime you want to show up, fine by me. Major Harris will soon be demoted to Private Harris if his play continues like it has. Anytime one of you defensive tackles feels like putting some pressure on anyone, fine by me.
I saw a lot of Julius Peppers going the long way last night but coming up with armfuls of air where he thought Packer Quarterback Aaron Rodgers was. Weren't Packer fans celebrating Rodgers' birthday yesterday?
Even with Cutler, Forte and Johnny Knox, it probably would have turned out the same. The Bears can't beat these guys because they can't compete with them. The Bears were healthy in week three when they coughed up a 27-14 hairball at Soldier Field to this same Packer team. That was a week after they got hammered by the Saints, 30-13. So, even at full strength, the Bears are no better that the third best team in the NFC and I think we can safely conclude that that they are not even close to being that.
What it is going to take for this to change is the same thing Bears fans clamor for every off season. Jerry must go. Lovie must go. Mike Martz must go. But we all know, at the end of the day, nothing, except maybe Martz's employment status, will change. It will still be the Jerry bringing in mediocre players, Lovie sticking to the Cover 2 and, if he's still there, Martz playing mad scientist.
Meanwhile, the Lions are getting pretty good, the Vikings will be better and the Packers are the cream of the NFL crop. The Bears? Not so much.
If I was Bears Chairman George McCaskey, I would be making lunch plans with Rocky Wirtz.
