Butkus D. Dogg's Friday Fearless Forecast (Week 9)
Hey there and welcome back. How smart am I, a seventeen pound poo dog? Last week I ran the freakin' table for the first time ever with a perfect 10-0 record. Who da dog now, dog? Oh yeah, oh yeah. That gets me up to 53-22 and I feel so good, I'm going to do it again. Then, I'm going to take a car ride. Okay, maybe not.Five college, five pro, straight up. Always trust you canine prognosticator. Here we go again:
College
- Texas Tech vs.Kansas State: Tech has been the Heisman this season derailing the campaign of Geno Smith. Tommy Tuberville always comes up with a plan for big games, but given that this is on the road and given Kansas State for real, I'll give Bill Snyder, Colin Klein the nod here. Take Kansas State.
- Florida vs. Georgia: Florida has one more major SEC opponent to discard before Florida State and the SEC Championship game. Georgia has a 1-10 record under Mark Richt against ranked teams and quarterback Aaron Murray has never beaten one. Take Florida.
- Tennessee vs. South Carolina: The Cocks have gotten hammered the last two weeks at LSU and Florida. Now they return home to meet Tennessee. Have you ever seen an orange target before? You will Saturday. Take South Carolina.
- Texas A&M vs. Auburn. Yeah, I know the Tigers play well at night. But they can't score, collapse in the second half and generally play like crap. I have zero confidence in their ability to win an SEC game, especially after last week's debacle at Vanderbilt. Johnny Football away. Take Texas A&M.
- Mississippi State vs. Alabama: Alabama may not cover, but it won't matter. Mississippi State's unbeaten streak ends in Tuscaloosa. Bama has way too much firepower. The only thing they have to worry about is this game and not LSU next week. Take Alabama.
- Notre Dame vs. Oklahoma: Since this weekend's schedule is so compelling, I am adding an additional college game. I can do that, it's my picks. This week, Notre Dame will be exposed as a fraud and be hammered by Oklahoma. Take Oklahoma.
Pro
- Seattle vs. Detroit: Mr. Wilson, meet Mr. Suh. How do you do? Angry Lions are often hard to stop. Take Detroit.
- Jacksonville vs. Green Bay: Despite the Packers many injuries, Preble High School could probably give the Pack a tougher game. Take Green Bay
- Chicago vs. Carolina: The Bears come off an emotional MNF win over Detroit. Jay Cutler has bruised ribs and Alshon Jeffery is still out with an injured hand. Still, the Bears defense and Cam Newton's inconsistency seal the deal for the Bears. Take Chicago.
- Atlanta vs. Philadelphia: The Falcons have been the best team in football all season. I don't think they are capable of running the table and being confused with the '72 Dolphins. Take Philadelphia
- New Orleans vs. Denver: Call my crazy, but the mere presence of Joe Vitt on the sidelines will breathe new life in to a desperate Saints team. Drew Brees will win the battle of gunslingers with Peyton Manning. Take New Orleans.
