Although I don't agree that Keith handled this in the best way for his team and possibly his record,I do agree with what ha said: that supporters of your team (I.e. the coaches and YOU) remain classless to the rest of NFL viewers. I'd have to say I'm with Brooking on this one.

Comment on Favre Will Erase All Doubt

Busted. Say what you want, I'm the censor around here.

Comment on Favre Will Erase All Doubt

Do you want some hot sauce with the crow your about to eat?
While I agree with you that pointing a finger at an entire ideology isn't always a good idea, please consider the following:

Wisconsin is a strange state in that while most areas of the state are somewhat conservative (and probably Libertarian), the state's two most populated areas are as left as it gets. Especially Madison, which is the state capitol.

It is the people on the left that made this law a reality. The Governor (Doyle) leans left as does the majority of the state legislature.

My intent was to put a face on who the culprit was. And in this case, the culprit clearly were liberal lawmakers in Madison.

I believe that there are good liberals and good conservatives and bad liberals and bad conservatives. I don't belong to a political party for that reason and I have been known to vote for members of both parties. I admit to being a Libertarian, but I don't necessarily subscribe to all facets of their philosophy.

As far as getting political, this issue was raised by, voted by and endorsed by politicians. The people in these communities weren't upset about the nickname of their school and did not ask the state to step in and fix it. But somehow, these lawmakers, who lead a state with ten percent unemployment, taxes out the wazoo, industry fleeing at every turn, teacher layoffs, crumbling roads and an increasing population of drug runners and undocumented workers, decided to forgo solving all those important problems to worry about something that really no one had a problem with.

In the last two years, this state has enacted a crap load of social laws designed to fatten the wallets of lawyers, doctors and insurance companies and lobbyists. The democrats know they must get all this done now because come November, this state will most likely elect a Republican governor and legislature. No body asked them to, there were no referendums or polling done, these guys just woke up one day and decided to screw everybody (my opinion) because they could. And the majority of those guys are the democrats for the liberal parts of Wisconsin.

I admit I am frustrated with the government of this state and how dumb they are and this piece gave me a chance to vent a little bit.

I don't know how old you are, but I can promise you one thing: The older you get, the more conservative you get. I remember when I was in college, I was practically a socialist. As you get older and accumulate things, you tend to want to protect your family and your stuff ahead of everything or everybody else. Just a thought there.

I hope I have explained a little more in detail why I wrote what I wrote. Thanks for reading, I appreciate it.

I enjoy reading your blog and subscribe to it in my google reader. I'm a Chicago sports fan, but also politically a liberal (like many Chicago sports fans).

Why did you have to go political here? Not all liberals think this way or do these things. I'd be the first one to defend the Blackhawks logo, just like I defended the Illini Chief.

I'm just saying...

Comment on Who Would You Want In Your Dugout?

Joe Girardi for sure!

Comment on Chances Are, "Jonny Mathis" Doesn't Get Ozzie Guillen, But It's Not For Me To Say

Thanks for the kind words but it doesnt mean you need to criticize people in articles and try to ashame them.
